Movies Anywhere brings together your movie library from Vudu and other major digital retailers such as iTunes, Amazon Video and Google Play in one place so that you can watch your movies when and where you want. You can also link your Vudu account to Movies Anywhere. If you were a Flixster Video customer and have not done so already, we encourage you to sign up or log in to your account at Vudu and to link your UltraViolet library to your Vudu account. However, former Flixster Video customers will still be able to watch all of the videos in their collection and redeem digital codes through Vudu. and no longer supports redemption of digital codes or playback of videos in the U.S. I know in iTunes if you have an HD movie, there's no option of downloading it in SD so it will hog a lot of your storage.Flixster Video has shut down its operations in the U.S.

I guess only SD for iPad could be a positive if you want to download more movies. Droid/iOS mobile devices are only SD anyway. If you stream and have a slow connection, you can choose SD version.

With Vudu, you can download movies from your cloud library to your device for offline viewing. Could be the closest you get to Blu-ray quality for streaming. Their HDX versions claim to have the best HD streaming picture quality with digital surround sound as well. Vudu also has apps for all the gaming consoles and streaming devices.

However, if you Chromecast/Airplay it to your TV it'll be in HD/HDX if you have that version. The only drawback is that Vudu on the iPad is only in SD.for now. Then ALL my digital copies can be in one place! And the ability to share your UV library with up to 5 people is great. I really hope Apple will join and integrate iTunes as well. It's even better now that Disney's DMA is integrated into UV.or is it Vudu? Either way, I get them all in my Vudu library. The bottom line is.I LOVE UV! I just started using Vudu to access all my UV copies. I don't think it's misinformation on this thread, it's just that this thread is so long that things have changed since it started. Now we fans have to understand the significance of this and demand more from Apple. among all the studios Disney had the most leverage to make it happen. Your movies suddenly become more valuable and you can also watch them on competing services. if Apple joined UV, the only change that Apple fans would notice is similar to Disney Movies Anywhere. But I don't appreciate being locked into Apple. The iTunes system is the best and easiest to use of all the digital movie stores. That's also why competing stores apps are so crippled on iOS.

People forget that Apple is no chump when it comes to taking a cut of third party content revenue. Any limitations on downloading you've seen has to do with the retailers themselves.Īpple does charge the studios a tremendous amount of money to offer Digital Copy. UV doesn't stop retailers from offering the same stream and download options they otherwise might.

Plus there is the cloud aspect of this, which provides decent added value,of being able to access your collectioN across devices. It's not as good as DRM free on many levels, but in the other hand, it is a whole lot better than being stuck with one retailer and one DRM.

Wouldn't that be nice? Then you could shop for movies at the best price. The only thing that would change is that any movie you acquired on iTunes would be synced across your other accounts, and vice versa. If Apple joined, then it would still keep its own DRM scheme. Retailers will keep offering whatever DRM they choose. Apple has always been welcome to join but Apple wants to keep its users movies stuck in the Apple ecosystem. UV isn't even a retailer, its a server that keeps a list of all the content you've acquired. First, UV isnt a DRM as much as it is a bunch of retailers letting the user share one library across multiple competitors. I am a little frustrated with the misinformation on this thread.
